![]() Run the command line (CMD) as administrator and enter the following commands in order. There are other buttons, rotaries, and stuff on my throttle and stick that aren't used, but either I can't get them to work or I can't think of anything they could be useful for.Įdit: I know the x52 has a pinky switch that is supposed to act as a modifier button, but I couldn't get it to work.1) We go into the BIOS of the motherboard and look for the HEPT (High Precision Event Timer) line and check that the function is turned on.Ģ) We start the computer. Throttle is all for movement, HAT for u/d/l/r strafing, one button for afterburner, one for brake, and one for countermeasures (I guess that's not movement related, but whatever.) It sounds like everything I would need, but I'm missing power management, shield management, cycling missiles/countermeasures, forward and backwards strafing, and other stuff. 4 buttons and a dual stage trigger on the stick all bound for firing weapon groups/missiles. I have 2 HATs one bound to look/aim another for targeting u/d/l/r all bound to different locking for enemies/friendlies. I use an x52 and I still don't think I have enough buttons on my HOTAS combo. Left pedal - strafe backwards, not yet set (think brakes) Right pedal - strafe forward, not yet set (think gas pedal) Awesome for change countermeasures or something if it did). Right mode-select wheel - not set (does this even work in-game? It's supposed to according to the image, but I can't get it to. ![]() Also eject, though I'd really like that to be a tough-to-hit-accidentally combination of several buttons.Ī - switch countermeasures, or missile type select or something once I move that and missile types existī - not set, fire weapon group 2 if necessary (I find long-range/all to be enough division.but maybe rocket pods or an EMP or something would go here?). Toggles on base - g-safe, comstab, lights, etc. Left black button (c) - fire countermeasures Will be used for more "emergency" functions like weapon group/countermeasure switching, or more missile functions perhaps.) And missiles are getting a revamp soon with IR ones aren't they? So who knows after that.)Ĭenter hat - look, but will be unset when I add trackIR or a rift (was targeting, but I bump it sometimes and its annoying. Main top button w/ safety- lock and fire missiles (switching lock and fire to two different buttons might get rid of the whole cancel-locking problem when I try to hit "fire" right before the lock finishes, I haven't tested. Pinkie trigger - decouple (I really want hold-to-decouple) Main trigger stage 2 (click all the way in) - fire all weapon groups Main trigger stage 1 - fire weapon group 1 (make this the long-range guns) Maybe for shifting power between front/rear shields, or left unused. Various sliders: transfer power in various ways, not set yetĮ and i - not set, probably spacebrake and match speed, though one might become the "shift" function to get double use out of all other buttons if that becomes necessary. Hat switch - up/down and right/left strafe But maybe after controls things get their next pass I'll shoot for a semi-final scheme (also holding out on more weapon diversity and IR vs radar missiles - that should change things up a fair bit). I don't have things totally set up because the current configuration doesn't allow all that I want, and I don't want to spend a lot of time screwing with third party software to make it work only to have to re-do that for every major change. The controls change a lot and are still incomplete. Every other control I need is mapped to the HATs on my stick, except for a few flight controls that are on the throttle unit. I know I forgot some because I have all buttons mapped, most to two different functions, so over 40 maps.įor Star Citizen I'm actually using Voice Attack for a lot of stuff like shield and power management. Shield reinforcement control (4 buttons/1 HAT switch)Ĭommon communication controls (can't remember all of them) In FreeSpace 2, I have every single button on my CH HOTAS mapped to something. Right now Star Citizen has very few controls, so outside of weapons and targeting there isn't much else.
